Onion pakoda
Ingredients:
- Onion - 3 to 4
- Gram flour / besan - 1 cup
- Rice flour - 1 tbsp
- Ginger - 1 inch ( finely chopped)
- Garlic - 4 to 5 ( finely chopped)
- Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Green chilly - 2 ( finely chopped)
- Baking soda - 1 pinch
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt - to taste
- Firstly peel and slice the onions thinly.
- Take a large mixing bowl and put the sliced onions. Add salt and mix it well.
- Then add gram flour (besan) , rice flour, a pinch of soda , red chilly powder, turmeric powder , chopped ginger, chopped garlic, chopped green chilly and few drops of water.
- Mix all the ingredients really well with the help of your hand or a spatula.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Take a ball size pakora mixture and drop it small small portion of that mixture in the hot oil.
- Turn the pakoras occasionally till both side of pakoras turn golden and crisp.
- Then take the pakoda out from the hot oil and keep it in a paper towel to absorb extra oil from it.
- Now your onion pakoda is ready.
- Serve onion pakoda hot with some tomato ketchup.
